The story is about Jean Valjean a man who was recently released on parole after spending nineteen years in chains for stealing a loaf of bread. As a condemned man he is ostracized from society and he becomes angry and bitter. When he is taken in by a church Bishop he leaves in the night stealing some of the Bishops silver. When caught the guards take him to the Bishop who tells them that the silver was a gift and lets him go. Realizing that the Bishop had touched Jean Valjean in a way not though possible, he decides to break his parole and start his life anew under a new name. Inspector Javert was one of the guards at the prison where Jean Valjean was. He begins a lifelong chase to find Valjean and bind in chains once again. During their chase there is unrest with the poor in France as students are staging a rebellion to take a stand against the injustice.
This is a classic tale of love and loss, sacrifice, justice and faith. This Les Miserables Audiobook is narrated by the voice of Frederick Davidson who puts the whole conflict into perspective from the character of Jean Valjean to Inspector Javert and the rebels who want to take charge of their own lives and quit being stepped.
