The Help AudioBook – written by Kathryn Stockett
A book that takes three stories, three protagonists and throws them together in a tale of breaking the mold of society in Mississippi in 1962. The first woman is 22 year old Skeeter who has just graduated from Ole Mississippi, and has gotten her degree. Her mother isn’t happy with her daughter because she wants nothing more for her daughter then to find a man and get a ring on her unwed finger. Skeeter would normally find comfort with her maid Constantine, who is also the woman who raised her, but for some reason Constantine has disappeared and no one will tell her where her long time mother figure has gone. The second woman is Aibileen, who is a black maid, is wise and is a regal woman who is raising her seventeenth white child. There has been a change inside of her after the loss of her own son, who had died while her bosses had looked the other way. She becomes devoted to the little girls she looks after, although something she knows will break both their hearts. The third woman is Minny who is Aibileens best friend. She is short fat and a very sassy woman but she can cook very well. Her main problem is she cannot hold her own tongue and has lost her latest job. She finally finds a position working for someone who does not know her, but that boss has their own secrets.
